We life in the multiculturalism, which there are many culture in this country and it is very unique. There are many examples for this case like Javanese, Bataknese, Sundanese, Lampungnese, etc. which each of them has difference identity. Some people said that a Javanese person was calm, soft, etc., Sundanese people was cannot spell “p”, and Lampungnese was rude. Are those true? Well I think that all was stereotyping some of people, although yeah it was true about that but again in fact, not only Lampungnese people who rude but Oganese also.
As well as culture, the identity also has many different with each other. Everyone have personal identity and it was very unique. Identity was very important in our life because identity have big effect in our personality. Many people said that Javanese culture is soft, but are that true? Yeah most of Javanese culture was calm especially for women. I think, that is stereotype of several people who judgment about Javanese culture.
Firstly, when I have talked with my friend Sundanese culture I often have not heard her voice because her voice so soft. So, I think that a Sundanese person more soft than Javanese person. But when I met with many sundanese persons it was different as in my opinion. Then I have neighbor with Lampungnese culture. One day I heard they conversation and I have shock because their voice like people who fight. I think that there was fight both of them. Then I saw them and I asked “hey what happen?” and with curious face they answer my question “oh nothing. Why?” and then I said “I think there was fight here because your voice like people who fight” they just laugh and give simple explain about their culture.
Then in different case I met a girl in the school then we have conversation together. Actually I have not heard her voice clearly because her voice so soft and then I ask her “are you sundanese?” and she said “no. I am Lampungnese”. I have shock when I heard she is Lampungnese yeah because I think that Lampungnese was rude, big voice, etc. and the fact not all of Lampungnese rude and big voice.
As a Javanese person I not calm as calm as Javanese it is because I lived in the different culture yet. I lived around different culture which mostly of them was Lampungnese. According to me Lampungnese was rude yeah again it is just my stereotype about Lampungnese. I think that all based on our environment.
