Individual Essay 1.

Tolerance....!

            One word in my mind when I am learning about this lesson Humanistic. Every people are difference in everything, thinking, assess, etc. We are life in the big city which has many differences of people, culture and religion. In this condition sometimes we felt does not secure with each other because the different. But actually with it we can make a good relationship with each other. That is based on our motto that “bhenika tunggal ika” that mean we are different but we are one nevertheless. That motto show that we are sould be tolerance with each other.

Different is not always causing the destruction but with the difference we can makes a beautiful life. If all of people in this world are same there is no difference. Oh my God..! I do not think about it. Something can be say beautiful, unique that all about differences. But sometimes it also can make conflict especially in culture and religion. For example the conflict which happens in the Kalimantan Barat both Madura and Dayak which once of the cause is because there is no tolerance with each other.

            That is why the tolerance is very important in our life. Because with tolerance each other, we can know and understand each others. When I am in the senior high school I life at boarding house. Here there are many people from different place and also different culture. Based on my experience I have friend she has different culture with me. I am Javanese and she Lampungnese. Every day we are always fight in Sociology class. It is because we are having the different understanding about culture. She has not good tolerance all she does is right. She thinks that there is no other culture except her culture. Sometimes she insult the other culture because she from remote area at all of the community is having same culture. That is why she is think like that. But after we are getting the anthropology class she know that there is much culture in this world. We are learning about many people in this world and we can respect with other. That is why know we are have good relationship because we can tolerance each other.

That is why I want to learn more about this subject, Humanistic which much learn about people, culture and religion. In this lesson I have much learn how we can respect each other, know each other, etc. I want learn more about people in this world. Why she/he like that or something like that. For me difference is unique if we can know each other. We can complete each other. In addition, I feel enjoy in this class and I hope I can give good respect with each other.

Technology in Language Learning

Nowadays, technology is very important in this world. All about technology. Technology makes our life easier to do everything. For example, cell phone which makes people easier to communicate with each other without limited area, wherever and whenever people want and without wasting much time. Besides that there is too other technology which many functions like television, computer, I pad, camera, etc. that all is important in our life. With technology people free to create everything their idea, imagination or other by technology. For me the technology is very help me to do everything like cell phone. I can communicate with my friend although she/he is in the different area. The other example is television, it can help me to know some information about what happen in this world also make me fun and enjoy the program.

But is the technology can be used in the education world?

I think it is can be, because with technology we can more easy for everything for example media in school like LCD projector and computer which help the students more interest to study, also the students more understand the material. Not only that, it also can help the teacher and students to looking some material in the internet connection.

Afraid…!

That the first word in my mind when I read the Technology Language Learning. I’m afraid if I cannot follow this course well. Because I do not really understand about technology actually in computer. But I am interested to learn more this lesson to know more about technology and used it in teaching. In this modern life we should know about many technologies especially for me and other candidate of teacher in the future because everything is used technology. At least this lesson can help me to prepare how used the technology in class. :-D

Principle of Effective Teaching and Assessment.

Principle of effective teaching and assessment. What is that?. The question in my mind when I read that statement. In the first I join this lesson I feel confused and do not understand what this lesson talks about, because this is my new experience to know and learn this lesson in this semester.  It is so difficult for me to understand this lesson but I feel interested in learning more about this lesson, although I do not really know all about this lesson. In the first meeting I know what is the effective teacher and the effective teaching.

Effective teacher and effective teaching are very important to know and understand especially for the candidate of teacher. From the experience which I got in first meeting in this course, I think the effective teacher is the teacher who have the skill, discipline, can handle the student, know the student in the different situation, creative, etc. and the effective teaching is teach with explain the material clearly, used the media, have two way communication, etc.

I have two teachers in my senior high school who have different in process of teaching. The first teacher is a women her name is Mrs. Darni. She is English teacher in listening. She is one of the teacher who not loved with student because she fierce in class. If she explains the material there is no one who can do something because she will be angry if there is someone who does not give attention to her and her explanation. So the students feel bored in class. Sometimes she always assesses the student with different level. To student who she like she always give the good score and vais versa. I think she does not know how teaching language, actually she is the graduated of Mathematics Department. Fortunately she go out from the school because something.

The second teacher is a man his name is Mr.Edi, he is English teacher in reading and writing. He is graduated of English department and he know how shared the language to the student. The students  are always fun if learn about reading and writing because the teacher can handle the students with games, etc. and he can explain clearly, he apply the PBL method although without media like LCD or something like that. He is also always objectively in giving the score. Every student loves him. I think he is a good teacher in my senior high school.

I think if I have, know and understand how the affective teacher and affective teaching and applying it in teaching I can be a good teacher in my class maybe and this topic really help me to prepare to be an effective teacher in the future. I can be Mr. Edi who loved with the student, hopefully.
